Kike Herrero Casas

Astronomer · PhD in Physics · MundiScope Director

PhD in Physics from the University of Barcelona, with research in exoplanets and stellar astrophysics, including low-mass stars and the search for Earth-like planets.

Director of the Montsec Observatory and a contributor to the development of its robotic telescope operations. His work also includes scientific collaborations with amateur astronomers, astronomy education and public outreach.

The MundiScope team

Independent researchers from Spain and astrophotographers, working alongside Kike Herrero Casas to develop MundiScope.

The project brings together scientific research and a shared interest in photographing the Universe. The team is building a way to explore different telescopes, observe the sky and capture astronomical images from your browser.

Our mission

Astronomy should be open to everyone.

Remote access brings the experience of using a telescope to people far beyond the observatory. We are building that connection.

Our network connects observatories, equipment and people so you can start in your browser and explore a sky hundreds or thousands of kilometres away.

We explain the equipment and its limits so you can choose a telescope, understand what you see and learn how to capture an image.

Help the network grow.

We welcome equipment, observatories and technical contributions that can help expand remote access to astronomy.
